Connecting Hearts and Minds

Horses and humans, despite physical differences, share a common essence as mammals. Both species feel, think, learn, and seek, yet humans are distanced from recognising this kinship. Despite our similarities, humans have difficulty creating real friendship with horses. For certain reasons we're detached from the real knowledge about ourselves and horses, leading to tense, painful and joyless relationships even though we seek the opposite! 

This detachment is nothing new. Our way of interacting with horses from the beginning of time, has been based on a limited view of not only horses but also a distorted perception of ourselves...

My teaching leads people to understand two truths that are infinitely important for reaching true understanding with horses: humans are an animal and species with unique abilities, and horses possess a profound and very bright intellect. When we recognise this intelligence, coupled with a sense of humility, we can engage honestly and develop real understanding with horses based in this inherent equality.

The need for a more meaningful connections with horses, moving beyond traditional practices and toward relationships based on force free understanding is more apparent than ever. Abandoning harmful methods is  the first step. True interspecies dialogue requires learning about both the horse’s nature and our own and this is the basis of my teaching.

My offerings include guidance on how understand horses on a deeper level, and shed outdated ideas and human-centric thinking that often lie below our awareness. My approach cultivates genuine, empathetic relationships with horses and guides us to rediscover our place in the web of life.
